Rev. 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Prophesy is a very powerful spiritual gift. John said that the actual testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophesy. It is actually the living word being spoken into a person or group of persons’ lives by the power of the Spirit. Paul said it encourages, exhorts, and comforts. This supernatural gift has the ability to impart courage and spiritual strength into our lives. This gift seemed to be very common in the early church, it has been neglected and misunderstood over the years but makes an appearance every time the Spirit is poured out again. The Lord gave me a word for the church a number of years ago that was recently brought to my attention. Here is that word of prophesy, let it produce strength in you today.

“Be strong and of a good courage. Be not afraid of what men shall say. Be not afraid of what men shall do. I am the Lord Who strengthens you. I am the Lord Who sustains you. I am the Lord Who empowers you. I am the Lord Who protects you. I am the Lord Who provides for you. I am the Lord Who guides you. I am the Lord Who empowers you. Be not afraid of what men shall say. Be not afraid of what men shall do.
Be not afraid of the circumstances that surround you in your day to day life, but look unto Me, the Author and Finisher of your faith, and press into My presence, looking unto those who have gone before you as an example of faith. Looking unto those who have gone before you and gone in behind the veil and grabbed hold of My promise and lived in My Glory. Grab hold of the things I’ve placed before you. Grab hold of that substance that I’ve placed before your hand. Grab hold of Me, the Anchor that anchors your soul, that strengthens you.
Unafraid and unashamed. Unafraid and unashamed. Unafraid and unashamed. Unafraid and unashamed. Filled with courage. Filled with boldness. Filled with strength. Filled with mercy. Filled with patience . Filled with love. Filled with peace. Filled with the joy of the Lord.”

Unafraid and unashamed, that sounds like the testimony of Jesus to me. In our secular and godless society we need spiritual power to live a Christian life. Pressure is constantly put on Christians to tone it down, especially in the realm of spiritual gifts. I want to express a different way to live, tone it up. Stir up the gift of God that you received in your life, pursue spiritual gifts. Paul said especially to pursue the gift of prophesy. As you press in to the Lord, He will begin to express Himself in you. Don’t be surprised when you begin to prophesy, after all, the testimony of Jesus in you is the Spirit of prophesy.

  1. God warned on two occasions not to take a job! Too really make it clear he used the spiritual gift known as discerning of spirits! He wanted me to work a job with a 40hr.work week or less! Also he didn’t want me to worry about getting a job with a high hourly rate! What! Say what! I know what he was trying to say though! Then he asked me to calculate the value of the souls of people for him! Wow! God is so awesome! Thanks God for the guidance from the Holy Spirit !(In the Name of Jesus Christ)

  2. A couple of excerpts from a letter to a family member that has spoken out about my reoccurring conversations about Jesus. I find they parallel several thoughts in today’s blog.

BLOG-“Unafraid and unashamed” “Be not afraid of what men shall say. Be not afraid of what men shall do.”
LETTER-I know I can be over the top with my constant rambling about God. I do not apologize because I only wish to share with others the greatest gift I have ever known.

    BLOG-“I am the Lord Who…….”
LETTER-Here I go again – rambling about religion again. Go figure! Thank you again for your compassion and concern. Try not to worry much – He, who made the world my situation exists in, has my back. /

LETTER-i have received something so precious the losses of these things are barely nonexistent. This brings me to the following scripture:
Matthew 13:14 – The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
I want each person to be sure they have a personal relationship with Christ and be fully sure of their salvation; not put their faith in a denomination or performed rituals as their hope. Because of the false hope I had in performing rituals in trying to achieve salvation, I now broadcast the simple truth.

It is my experience that this truth has brought conflict from friends, family and others. Refer back to “I am the Lord Who…….”

  3. Dearest Pastor

Somewhat like Mark’s ‘rambling’ to family – the following is part of a letter I wrote this morning to an old friend from the “Hollywood” daze; a strong Christian believer that I acted with many times over a twenty year period.

Easter of course, never meant much as a Jew, prior to the last 30 years or so. Now it is a day of anticipation…of His return.

Please forgive the diatribe…in my ‘fourth quarter’ it is good to know an updated statement and witness of Jesus’ move in me.

“Talked with others today, even Pastors can not be sure that they are following the word of the Lord. While there should be no dissension, as I heard you say, “Are you sure it is of the Lord”? We really can’t expect a signed letter [like John Denver found in the Lettuce – “Oh God!”], however, in my case at least, this morning He had me again consider my background, the fab script He has written in the past, and only then I must go forward and consider His voice in all that I would do.

Lying in bed this morning, after morning prayer, and into the script for the Easter skit [even before meds, food or a glass of water] more is constantly revealed. I am His. I follow even when it doesn’t seem logical, it is the leap of faith that got me on the move – even to unpaid evangelism. Its been a great, wonderful and inspiring “trip”. His words often surpass anything I could write myself. And I will continue to walk as I feel the Spirit leads me. I am reminded again that this ‘performance’, that is, being chosen to do this Easter bit is at His request, and that there will be more opportunities to do his work with my big, Benjamin mouth! In that I am thrilled. Just the anticipation that He will use me further is more than anything in this world can offer.

I know now that all my walks are but training. Remember, with Hollywood behind me the first acting job I had here was many performances in the Passion Play as Caiaphas, even to the opening in our Sanctuary singing the schma [Deut. 6:10+] in a loud, clear, Hebrew; projecting [no belting] as from a Shakespearean stage. 2500 seat sanctuary – microphone and sound off until I actually arrived at the Pulpit. Such Glory cannot be found in the highest pay Hollywood could offer. Praise God for all the experiences.

If I error, in the end, there is only one reward, not lost because of me but in spite of me. It is all summed up in John 3:16.”

Be well, and be joyous that He is the LORD
