But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
2 Cor.3:18

It seems like I had a strange unusual perception of my surroundings this Monday at our annual Feed the Multitudes event. I kept seeing people’s faces. I know we always see faces but these faces were calling out to me. It was as if there was a silent voice commanding my attention. I heard Uncle Sam calling out to me (Uncle Sam seemed to be attached to the elderly event in the Life-center). His voice was reminding me about God’s purpose for our country and our historical connection to revival. Uncle Sam seemed to be saying, “Get ready, It’s about to happen again.” Then I heard the voice speaking to me as I talked to Evan, the television reporter. I actually had a hard time listening to his instructions about the live interview, all I could think of was that name, “Evan”, and about another Evan from Wales who was calling out to me from 100 years in the past. “Bend us Lord”, the silent voice seemed to be saying. During that live interview another voice seemed to be speaking from the police officer who was looking at me over Evan’s shoulder. The officer seemed to be saying “Justice is about to be served. The great and terrible day of the Lord is at Hand”. Don’t these voices have any manners? It seemed like one kept interrupting the next. Then I was attracted to the activity swirling around an ambulance that suddenly appeared near the church offices. There was another one of those faces with the silent voice, this time it was an EMS worker. As he worked on the victim suffering from heat stroke, his silent voice began to cry out, “the people are hurting, they are sick, they need a doctor.” There seemed to be an urgency in his voice, like the time was drawing to a close. The next voice caught me by surprise. I was talking to a newspaper reporter about a veteran who had gone on to be with the Lord. The conversation started out as routine, an apparent reluctant interview with someone just doing his job. When suddenly the reporter began to be moved with emotion, I guess it was something about the fallen soldier, and then the voice began to speak, “Eternity is close, it is nearer than you think. Tell them, tell the people to get ready for that day”. I wandered back to the music tent, thinking the silent voices would be quiet, when a young girl began to dance to the music (I guess you could call it dancing). Her freedom from fear was quite disturbing, and then the voice started up again. “It was for freedom that Christ made you free, don’t take yourself so seriously. Become like a child, enter into my rest”. I guess only crazy people listen to the silent voices. On second thought, maybe I was only imagining things or maybe it was those blasted watermelons.

  1. WOW! I am always amazed how God speaks to us, we just need to be willing to hear His voice. And the watermelons, I was there when the painting was made, hehe…..those melons are so good. Great way to start my day. Thanks.

  2. What a watermelon day this is !!!! Those voices are sweet whispers that come when we are in the shadow of His wings….The faces of the children (and some brave “grown-ups”) at the face painting tent are turned up, smiling, and ready for the blessing of decoration. while I paint the kids I wonder who they are going to be someday. I think ,”am I praying for the someday president of the U.S. or maybe the future preacher who will speak this nation into the great and last revival ?” It’s an honor ’cause I got to touch them and say a prayer for their futures. Thanks Pastor Frank ur blog is sooo refreshing in the morning.

  3. WATERMELONS! I will never look a watermelon the same ever again!
I always laugh at your telling of the story of how FTM began. You being a SERIOUSLY determined guy just could not sustain the life path God placed you on. (your not alone!) In the face of a tidal wave of human wisdom in a time of personal dismay and fear of an uncertain future you choose to listen to the One that once said, ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isa 41:10) Oh yeah, in the face of finical collapse He also told you to throw a free party on Independence Day. Just CRAZY!!!!!!!
He wanted to free some captives. The best Independence day that some will ever experience. Besides, sounds as though He had an overwhelming harvest of heavenly watermelons.

  4. Hey, who said it wasn’t raining . Kirk, in the hotter than usual cooking area, rigged up a mister in front of a fan to cool the cooks like Terry and me down a bit. But holding up two frozen plastic packages of wieners up against both jugular veins did the trick for me.

After posting about bringing some takee-out food (Spirit) for the homeless a few days ago I was blessed to be able to bring a FTM dinner, a cold drink and some spending money to a homeless person at Severn and W.Esplanade. How about the idea of a takee- out service to isolated areas of homeless.?

Overall it was a very hot day, but the Spirit was raining down all over..

  5. Pastor, I will be first in line for some of that watermelon anointing in the next prayer line. Also, do you think there is something to be said about the different parts of the watermelon?

    1. Hey Sean, I didn’t think of it like that. AWESOME! I wouldn’t normally eat the rind, but on these I wouldn’t waste the smallest piece!

  6. Love your message on the faces in the crowd. One that stands out to me was the little children singing under the gospel tent. It was if the next generation is crying out to be told the gospel and to be made whole. The children pictures being posted on facebook from the event encourage me that they will pass on the great feeding of the multitudes for generations to come.

  7. Absolutely amazing!! Thank you for listening Pastor and for sharing πŸ™‚ We are in changing times for sure…..whatever it takes, bend us…. let the wind blow, the river flow, the rain fall, and the fire burn….make us ready for your coming Lord!! So blessed to be under your ministry, eagerly and excitedly anticipating the word of the Lord for this time!!!

  8. So miss that day-FTM! Always God shows up in a glorious way and speaks to so many…love you guys…what a wonderful work you have in nola.
