And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
Acts 2:19-21

Everyone who calls upon the Name of Jesus will be saved. That is the greatest of all miracles, to be born again. Nicodemus, the great teacher in Israel asked the Lord, “how can a man enter his mother’s womb and be born again?” He could not comprehend the spiritual birth until he received it himself, no one can. In today’s verse, Peter is quoting from the prophet Joel who was describing events that would happen at the end of the age. He spoke of signs in the heavens and signs on the earth, we are all far too familiar with these signs. Earthquakes, storms, famines, wars, riots, revolutions, our daily news is filled with all of these things. Finally Peter, mentioned the greatest of all signs, all that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Has the Lord ever used you to win a soul to Christ? This is an incredible experience only rivaled by the moment we met Jesus for ourselves.
I’ll never forget the first time I prayed with someone to become a Christian. I was only a few weeks old in the Lord and I was out street witnessing with some of the students at the Bible School I attended. We were in the “red-light district” in Fresno California passing out tracts. Some of the bolder students were doing some street preaching, Needliness to say, I was a little scared (okay, a lot scared). A student from Mobile, Alabama from the school named Carla called out to me to come with her. I followed her back to our cargo van and Carla opened the door and said to me in her Southern accent (Carla was from Mobile, Alabama) “Frank, pray with these girls, they want to receive Jesus.” I peeked into the van to see five or six teenage girls sitting on the floor. I didn’t know what to do so I said “Bow your heads and pray this prayer”. I did my best to pray something like I had heard in all of the services I had atended since I had ben saved. To my great surprise, the atmosphere in the van suddenly changed, Jesus came into the vehicle and the girls began to weep as they prayed. Carla took over from there, but I was probably impacted more than anyone there that night. I had been used to usher these girls into the kingdom, I had witnessed my first miracle. That night, I saw that sign and wonder Peter had preached about, “all who call on the Name of the Lord will be saved.” From that day forward I have been hooked, I want to win souls.

  1. what i love is the simplicity of the gospel so simple a child can understand it yet the vwise and prudent stumble over it, we and all of us have to humble ourselves aS A CHILD TO COME TO THE LORD NOTto many do that that are big popular important people in the world, we have to see our need for god first i know i had to in my own life i marvel at knowing what the lord has given usone time i was out shareing the lord in this park, this freak came up to me saying he had grass acid and coke and was looking all around while he was telling me this so i started looking around like he was and told him i had jesus christ salvation and eternal life, this person came all undone and ran yelling no not jesusi thought how sadfor this person the simple gospel has power also it seperates and divides we get on one side or the othercant do anything else
