And from there he arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house and did not want anyone to know, yet he could not be hidden. But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet.

Mk 7:24,25

When your children are hurting, you are hurting. This gentile mom was at her wits end. Her child was tormented, there was no rest for anyone in their home. Their only hope was a miracle. When Jesus came into her region, she took immediate action, even an apparent denial from the Lord wasn’t going to stop her. She wanted nothing less than a miracle.
We recently met a lady and her son with a similar problem, her little boy had not slept more than three hours in any night for ten years. Her son was tired, she was tired, and their whole world was captive to this dilemma. This mom needed a miracle. Her pastor announced our revival meetings in her church in Bendigo, Australia. She decided to take action. She began three weeks of fasting and prayer in anticipation of these meetings. When the meetings started, night after night they were in the prayer lines. From the very first night he began to sleep. His mom testified that she had to wake him each morning, he was catching up on some much needed rest. For the first time in ten years, this whole family is getting some sleep.
Maybe you are at the end of yourself, or maybe you feel like you need some rest. Just as Jesus met the gentile from Tyre and the little boy and his mom from Bendigo, He will meet you in the midst of your struggle. What will it take? In both cases it required persistence. Many times lifes delays appear like denials from the Lord. That is the time to take action. In Bendigo, it was three weeks of fasting preparing for a meeting, for the Caananite woman it was an intrusion into the Lord’s time of rest. Both acts of persistent faith did not go unrewarded. The little girl was freed in Tyre, and in Bendigo a young boy is sleeping. Today is the day for you to put feet to your faith. Get under the anointing in church, soak yourself in prayer and worship, recruit your friends to fast and pray. As you do, you will enter into the Lord’s rest.

  1. Be persistent in going before God with your request ,petitions in prayer. This will place you right where you need to be, in His presence. In His presence you will find rest, peace, renewed strength and answers to your situation! God has never failed to answer His children’s’ request above and beyond their expectations. Many times in ways they could never have imagined!
    1. to continue steadfastly or firmly in some state, purpose, course of action, or the like, esp. in spite of opposition, remonstrance, etc.
    2. to last or endure tenaciously.
    3. to be insistent in a statement, request, question, etc.

  2. I share the response of a brother in Christ to this post that it may be a blessing – Marvin is his pet.

My Beloved Brother in Christ; Blessed is His Word and by hearing It Our Faith is strenghened .I can relate to the poor woman’s situation and I can say that Marvin does indeed get “our crumbs” …. well, maybe a little more that that. But what a awesome story of a Believer who suffered trials and then went to the Lord determined that He hear her prayer, a prayer not for riches or blessings for herself but that of her child.Praise the Lord in all thy works by praising Him for the trials as well as blessings.I believe that the full, ultimate filling power of the Spirit is received when we can, even in the mist of pain and suffering, seek the Lord’s face and just say” Thank you Lord for this trial for Your Will will always provide the greatest blessing. Let me receive Your Wisdom through this”.I can think of many times I have been able to do that and as such it has become the first thing I try to do in dealing with uncomfortable situations. Let us also strive to invite our sacrifice and burden by acknowledging sacrifices for the oppressed ,unfortunate the suffering and yes even the unbelievers;and let us always be in a state of prayer especially that all His children despite their state of belief or envilness will be open to to hear the Word spoken to them —-see a favorite passage of mind,Mark 7:34, which I spoke out at a “Life in the Spirit” meeting in the repeating of a single Word, “Ephphatha”, that the Lord spoke to open an unbeliever’s ears. I just like the rhythm of one ,all alone, simple Word that carries such Power of the Holy Spirit. So thank you brother for bringing me to these Words this beautiful morning and let us all BE OPENED- Ephphatha- to His Word and spread His good news forever.Proverb 27:17
